Linotale is a Ukrainian creative duo: Nadiia Onyshchenko and Pavlo Nikolaychuk. The works of these artists combine modern sound and echoes of the traditions of Ukrainian painting. When you see any of their works, you will immediately remember their creative style, which is embodied in phantasmagoric plots that resemble vivid dreams.

Inspiration

It seems that there are no limits for Linotale artists: they are inspired by Ukrainian folk art, ethnography, nature. But the main source of inspiration for them seems to be the plant world because floral motifs are present in most of their works. "Secret Garden" is the name of one of the last Linotale exhibitions, which took place in the Pavlo Tychyna Museum in Kyiv.

In the paintings of Nadiia Onyshchenko and Pavlo Nikolaychuk, there is a special life-giving force. Sometimes they resemble the genius naivete of Maria Primachenko, but not in form or plot, but with the same determination, the courage to see the beauty in simple things - birds, flowers, sky. The very ability to talk about ordinary things, changing the scale of their vision.

Technique

Linotale works in the technique of linocut, which is reflected in the name - Linotale. This technique is more than a hundred years old and it is a continuation of the woodcut technique, wood engraving, which has been used for more than a thousand years.

Linotale artists are rethinking the technique of linocut, filling it with new techniques and meanings. Unlike traditional linocuts, which usually use one or two colors, Linotale's works are colorful, which makes the process of creating them very complicated. After all, each color is applied separately - using a large antique press. Due to the richness of colors and large size, some of Linotale's engravings are difficult to distinguish from paintings painted with paints. Artists are also actively experimenting with different materials, including colored paper and fabrics. In addition to engravings, they offer connoisseurs exclusive clothing, brooches, toys, eco-friendly bags, and even lamps - all with recognizable prints in the creative style of Linotale.

Recognition

Linotale artists have taken part in many exhibitions, festivals, and art open-airs in Ukraine and around the world. The number of artistic events in which they participated is approaching two hundred. Their works can be seen in Ukrainian museums, as well as in museums and exhibition centers in Poland, Spain, Italy, the United States, Canada, and other countries.

Linotale's works are very popular among collectors with Ukrainian roots who live all over the world. After all, in these works, the Ukrainian artistic tradition is combined with the modern vision of a unique world of whimsical fantasies and dreams.
